My name is Michael Jennings, and I'm looking for work as a front-end developer. I like working with javascript. I like making sites move. I like to build single-page sites. My style is minimalist.

I've been programming for years now, but only recently started working with the front-end. I'm learning fast.

Check out my projects or shoot me an email.

Here are some things I've been working on lately:

Deftly, a website I built to display some of my generative sketches.
Electrodynamics, an Android app that generates lightning bolt visuals.
A porfolio website for an illustrator, Charli Beck.

Deftly is a website I built to display some of my generative sketches. You can check it out at deftsketches.com

I don't have a Macbook to test on, so it may not not run well on Safari.

You can take a look at the code on Github.

Electrodynamics is a very simple Android app that generates lightning bolt visuals when the screen is touched. You can download it for free from the play store.

The app was built in Java and uses OpenGL for the graphics.

A portfolio site I built for an illustrator. You can check it out at mjngs.com/cb.

The illustrator ended up deciding not to use the site (which is why it's hosted on one of my domains). This was the first full website I'd ever built, and I think I learned a lot from it.

You can take a look at the code on Github.

I have worked at Amazon as a Software Engineering Intern, worked at ViaSat as a Software Engineering Intern, and worked at D&B Credibility Corp. as a Web Development Intern.

Admittedly, none of my work experience thus far has been front-end work. I hope my personal projects make up for this deficit.

Amazon

I worked at Amazon during the Summer of 2013 as a Software Engineering Intern.

At Amazon I developed a text advertisement data model and implemented an API in Java for creating and updating advertisements within that model.

ViaSat

I worked at ViaSat during the Summer of 2012 as a Software Engineering Intern.

At ViaSat I worked on a team of three interns to develop a prototype for a home security and automation system. I worked primarily in Java.

D&B Credibility Corp.

I worked at D&B during the Summer of 2011 as a Web Development Intern.

At D&B I worked in PHP maintaining the backend of the company's website. I also worked with various public API's to gather and validate business information.

I attended the University of California, Los Angeles, from which I received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. I graduated in March of 2014 with a GPA of 3.19.
